Meet
Blooper- Everyone’s favorite hound dog, who loves munching on cheeseburgers and tears it up on lead guitar for the mascot band sat down with us and gave a little insight into what makes this canine tick…
We’re about one month into the season. What do you think about this season so far?
It is definitely my favorite season so far. All the kids at the stadium have been so excited to see the Reading Phillies and all of my mascot friends. We have been having a blast, and there are so many more exciting nights to come here in Baseballtown!
What has been your favorite part of the season so far?
The mascot band rocking opening night was amazing, but meeting a bunch of new friends every night tops even playing with my buddies in the band. Every game has been my favorite so far.
What is the one promotion you are looking forward to the most this year?
It has to be bark in the park night on June 8th and September 2nd. Those are going to be some great nights. It is always a fun night. Everyone brings their dog out to the pool area. It’s nice to have some other barking furry friends on those nights! I hope everyone brings their dog out so I can meet them!
I know you take your guitar playing in the mascot band pretty seriously, who was your inspiration to learn to play the guitar?
I always listened to Jimi Hendrix growing up on the banks of the Schuylkill River. He was an amazing guitarist. I always try to imitate his style. I also get a lot of inspiration from my good friend quack when we play. He has so much energy we all feed off of him. All of us in the mascot band have so much fun together.
The mascot band has been rocking the stage for almost 10 years now what is your favorite rock and roll memory with the band?
It is definitely playing in Philadelphia for the Mascot of all mascots birthday, the Philly Phanatic. It was amazing to see all those Phillies fans enjoying our music, and excited to see the Phillies play.
It has been great talking to you Blooper. Do you have any words of wisdom for your adoring fans?
I hope to see you all out here this season. I’ll be having fun every game I hope you are too!
